O’hanlon Bar
2257 31st St, Astoria, NY
(718) 728-9619

This bar is literally right off my subway stop so, I’ve been there a few times. What can I say about it, a dive in every sense of the word. This isn’t a bad thing though, everyone needs to know a few dives when you don’t want crowds or $8 beers. Sassy Irish bartender will put you in your place if you act a fool. No food served here, so bring in a sandwich and enjoy it with your low priced beers. I promise you will leave with a story, whether that be dominating the juke box to play the same song 8 times in a row (yeah it was me) or being hit on by 70 year old women, not me but I was there. They throw a decent St. Paddy’s day bash, with catered food, I spent last years there with a few friends. Another word of advice, if you smoke, you will definitely meet some odd people out there, best of luck.
